Your Body Has Been Showing Up for You Your Entire Life
Maybe it’s time we returned the favor.
We ask an awful lot of our bodies.
We stay up too late. Rush through meals. Carry children, groceries, deadlines, heartbreak and stress. We push through exhaustion because there are people to love, bills to pay and approximately 47 things that needed to be done yesterday.
Then our body has the nerve to feel tired, change as we age or ask for a little extra attention—and suddenly we’re frustrated with it.
I know that feeling.
My own health journey, and later losing both of my parents to cancer, changed the way I looked at the human body. I stopped only asking, How do we fix what’s wrong? and became fascinated by a different question:
What does the body need to thrive?
That question eventually led me to naturopathy and became part of why LivingMajik exists.
The basics aren’t particularly glamorous, but they matter. The National Institutes of Health emphasizes healthy eating, physical activity, adequate sleep and stress management as important parts of maintaining health throughout life.
Of course, taking care of ourselves doesn’t mean we can prevent every illness or fix everything naturally. Sometimes our bodies need medical care.
But we can become better partners with them.
Drink the water. Eat nourishing food. Move. Rest. Pay attention when something feels different.
You don’t have to reinvent yourself by Monday.
Start with one better choice.
Your body has been showing up for you your entire life.
Maybe it’s time we returned the favor.
